Lagi was born in Savai'i, Western Samoa. Siapo was a part of every day life. It was a cottage industry. It was a way to provide for the family and the village. Lagi often traveled with renowned Siapo Artist Mary Pritchard and assisted her with her demonstrations. Lagi continued to create and teach Siapo in the tradition of her people until she passed away in 2008. Her legacy still lives on.
